Burger Quest: Dans La Maison

This past weekend I had the pleasure of visiting with my long time best friends from UBC. We met in Seattle. It has been 30 years since we met and 25 since we graduated. This put Burger Quest on the back burner. I returned late Sunday.

You might recall that last week, I went to the Dundee Bistro. And, while I was very satisfied, it might be the case that Mrs. Flaneur found the price tag disconcerting. It might have led to some discord. Maybe.

So this week I went Dans La Maison. Nestled in the Baker Creek neighborhood, the venue offers parking in a covered garage. There is direct entry from the garage into the dining area. There is a sunflower motif to the decor, with Lego sun flowers on the table and an Abraham Marbus original oil painting of a sunflower.

The burger itself featured a 1/4 pound patty thoughtfully seasoned with Beefy Onion Soup mix on a toasted sesame bun. Two crispy strips of pepper bacon Fresh lettuce, tomato, and a dill pickle garnished this masterpiece, providing the perfect compliment to the savory and juicy patty and bacon. The tater tots were the Oregon classic Ore-Ida extra crispy variety. After 20 minutes at 450, they were potato perfection. I paired this with a generous pour of red from Flanuer Winery in Carlton. Overall I give the following grades: Burger: A (the chef is a genius and a true artist) Tatertots: B+ Wine: A At a total cost of $10 this is quality at price point that is unbeatable.
